Opnner- Tiny luck
Iwaya Kaho
Textile design and production
Opnner is a distinguished Tokyo-based brand that was founded in 2015 by visual artist Iwaya Kaho. The brand has gained a reputation for its distinctive sketch-like line drawing style and its innovative approach to transforming traditional images of tattoos in Japan into a more whimsical and soft image.
Our team had the privilege of collaborating with Opnner on a project that involved creating a collection of ten wall hanging pieces that would showcase Kaho's exceptional artistic talents and our team's expertise in textile design. Throughout the collaborative process, we worked closely with Kaho to meticulously transform her illustrations into textile form. To achieve this, we utilized handcrafted tufting techniques, resulting in intricate, multi-layered designs that were able to translate Kaho's artwork onto fabric in stunning detail.
The resulting collection was a remarkable fusion of traditional techniques and contemporary design, serving as a testament to the power of collaboration and artistic expression. Each piece in the collection was a true work of art, displaying the remarkable craftsmanship, attention to detail, and creativity that went into its creation.
In 2021, we had the opportunity to showcase this stunning collection at the Fruit Hotel in Taipei. The exhibition was met with great enthusiasm and appreciation from visitors and art enthusiasts alike, solidifying our reputation as leaders in the field of textile design and elevating the profile of Opnner as a brand that is committed to pushing the boundaries of artistic expression.
