HANDMADE CASHMERE
HANDMADE CASHMERE SERIES
It all began with a jumper I wanted to make for my mom.
Looking back over the years, knitting has always been my way of creating and expressing myself. I have made many pieces and products, but in the past few years I start to reflect what do I truly want to express through what I make? Beyond visual beauty, I began to care more about where the materials come from, how they are made, how to avoid overproduction, and how to create in a sustainable way. These questions gradually became the core of my practice.
“There’s no need for another piece of clothing in this world.” — I still remember clearly.
I wanted to use good materials — natural ones, made under fair and thoughtful conditions. After a long search, I found organic cashmere from Mongolia. The fibres are gently collected during the spring moulting season, ensuring both animal welfare and fibre quality. Undyed and natural, the cashmere retains its original hue and softness.
Each piece in this series is slowly made in my London studio — hand-knitted, hand-sewn, and finished with care. Every piece is slightly different, never identical, unlike factory-made products. I hope the person who wears it can feel the warmth and traces of the hands that made it.
Each piece is made like something lovingly knitted just for you, to be cherished and worn for a long, long time.
